Our deacons

Benevolence

I was raised in a Christian home. At the age of 7, with my mom, I asked Jesus into my heart to be my Lord and Saviour. I did struggle in my younger years, but in my twenties I rededicated my life to the  Lord and I was baptised in 1988.

I am married to a wonderful woman and we have two children who are both baptised and involved in their local churches.

I grew up in Swift Current and was taught the importance of church attendance, Sunday School, and youth group. When I was a child, I had the good news about Jesus explained to me which is what I wanted right then. In my teen years, I came to realise, I had not truly understood the Gospel as a younger child. It was at age 13, attending summer Bible camp, where I was strongly impacted by the messages from the camp speaker. As a result of this, I recognised I had not truly understood the seriousness of my sins and the very true reality of Heaven and Hell. I went home from camp that summer constantly thinking about what I had heard at camp and trying to process it all. It was later on that summer as I was feeling convicted that I accepted Jesus as my Saviour.
I enjoyed youth group, youth events, and my friends through the high school years. I now had a peace that passes understanding that comes from God. Knowing this was a great blessing as life would only prove to be more challenging moving forward. This would become more apparent as an adult, through some steep challenges and valleys. The following truth has proved to be certain: God is always good, His faithfulness is great, and His peace is real and surpasses my understanding.
Adult life has also brought many blessings too numerous to list, but include my marriage to Jaime in 2007. I also have two adult sons who are married and residing in Medicine Hat, as well as an adult step-daughter who resides in Swift Current.
As an adult, I have attended several churches around Swift Current and was baptised at a local church in 1992. Most recently, Jaime and I have felt blessed to be able to attend Restoration House these past 4 years. It has been a privilege to worship and serve at RH.

Finances

I was born in a Christian home and grew up in the church. I can’t really say the exact moment I committed my life to Jesus as I have always had faith in Him for the forgiveness of my sins.

I have slowly been growing in Godly maturity and have taken some of the biggest steps in the last few years. As a kid, I went to Chortitz church with my parents and one brother and later went to Trailview. I have been attending Restoration House since 2014.

God has given me a love for people and I wish to serve the body of Christ as best I can. I will rely on God and His wisdom to do so as I am an imperfect person.

Building

I grew up on a farm in a Christian home with my brother and sister. My mom led me to the Lord when I was 7 or 8 years old. I got baptised at Wadena Baptist Church where I attended until I moved away after high school.

Right out of school I went to Millar College of the Bible for one year. I met my wife there and we settled down in
Swift Current. We have been married for 18 years and have two girls. We have attended Restoration House from the very beginning and have enjoyed being a part of the church family.
